Ognjen Vukovic asked 4 years ago

Hey all, ill prob be posting some mega basic questions, but i am still getting my head around most of the concepts. Is it possible to attach the a truwater buoyancy component to a player character to have him swim through the water? Or is this achievable in some other way?

Thanks in advance,
Ogi.

Hi, Apologies for the delay. Once our latest update comes around we will be aiming for a tutorial related to water.

You can change your water probes from physics to source and depth test. You can use these to check if they are underwater, and you can trigger effects if that is true. You could have the player use buoyancy but it may be disorientating using the player as a physics object – so using the probes to check if the player is in the water – then applying other effects (animations etc) is the way to go.
